But yes, as with many other things in life, it all starts at a "raw" idea.

That "raw" idea in this project was actually what we traders call a "day-trading" system or stratgey. In other words, the Forex Scalpa™ project started out as a "day-trading" robot.

Now...

Many people regard "scalping" as day-trading but that
is wrong when it comes to trading jargon. Yes, a scalp
can last a few seconds or minutes... and yes, you
generally never hold it beyond the day it was opened...

BUT, it still doesn't qualify as a day-trading strategy based on trading terminology standards...

The term "day-trading" denotes a trader using a strategy/robot that:

1)	Closes trades at least 5-10 minutes after it opens them (however, many regard day-trading as strategies that keep a trade open for at least 20-30 minutes)

2)	Its profit objective is at least 15-20 pips. Again, we say AT LEAST. Many traders will attach the term to stratgies which aim for 50 pips or more.

On the other hand, the term "scalping" denotes a strategy/robot that:

1)	Has the objective of opening and closing a trade in no more than 5-10 minutes. Sometimes trades may not reach the desired profit objective so, based on time tested rules, the strategy might close those trades after 5-10 minutes regardless of profit/loss.

2)	Looks to achieve a profit per trade of around 10 pips (can be more or less depending on the strategy)

So...

The differences between a scalping and a day-trading strategy are obvious.

Although both open and close trades within a single 24 hour trading session, their characteristics are different in terms of A) Length of trade and, B) Profit objective.

Of course, there are more differences, but we just wanted to highlight the main ones for you.... the most crucial.

Anyway, to make a long story short...

Forex Scalpa™ was originally thought of as a day-trading strategy for the EUR/GBP pair.

And to be honest...

Its perfomance was actually quite good when we tested the initial version that aimed for slightly larger profit objectives and a time periods.

But... as traders, our job is never to settle for JUST "good"!

We always want THE best we can get out of a strategy/robot... and why not! - it's our money at play.

So...

We noticed something very interesting while studying hundreds of trades across a few years of results.

We saw that the losing trades had all one similar characteristic: the market would run in your favor and almost always reverse after achieving about 70% of the established profit objective.

What a shame to leave so much cash on the table...

Anyway... we worked non-stop for about 3 weeks and re-designed the core strategy of the robot.

The idea being to:

A.	Make sure that potentially losing trades would now close in profit (no matter how much... a profit, as small as it might be, is better than a loss!), and

B.	Make sure that the change in the strategy does not affect the proportion of winning trades.

NOT an easy task, trust us on this...

But... "not easy" does not mean impossible!

The end result? The best EUR/GBP scalping robot in the industry... and no, this is not an exaggeration.
